Leslie Girmscheid, MD, LMT, NCTMB is a retired physician who ventured into the field of muscular therapy to continue her role in hands-on healing. She practiced medicine for 15 years in Pennsylvania, California, and Kansas before pursuing studies at Massage Therapy Training Institute in Kansas City, MO. After graduating and moving back to the East Coast, she practiced for 7 years in Needham, MA and has now established her massage practice–with a focus on medical/orthopedic problems–in southern Maine. She is licensed in Maine, nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork and is a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. Her fees are comparable to those of local massage therapists.

She integrates neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue bodywork, and orthopedic frictioning techniques with Swedish massage for a unified, therapeutic, yet relaxing experience.
